Down County Lens
Lens in Focus: Sage Russell

Sage Russell is a fellow and reporter for Down in the County documenting the intricate stories of those who call Pamlico home. In his photography, Sage enjoys the medium’s ability for storytelling, often focusing on capturing emotion and human relationships. When taking photos he continues to ask himself two questions, “what does this photograph communicate?” and “what are the other angles or perspectives I could take this picture from?” Creativity and curiosity are a must, and he finds the real privilege of photography comes from the conversations and connections that lead up to the shot.
